Standing With Survivors: How You Can Help
Your donation directly supports legal advocacy for survivors of human trafficking, funding civil lawsuits that hold traffickers and negligent third parties accountable. It provides survivors in Austin and across Texas with a meaningful path to justice through trauma-informed representation backed by nearly two decades of dedicated experience. Our goal is to raise $1,000.00 by the end of the year. With your generosity, we are confident this goal will be met. We appreciate your commitment to helping survivors of trafficking. ~Laura Politi, and the Politi Law Team

Donation questions, answered
You may have noticed the green Stand With Survivors heart on our website. Its presence marks the official launch of our donation program, established to provide meaningful support to victims and survivors of human trafficking. At this time, donations made through the Stand With Survivors program are not tax deductible. We are actively pursuing tax-deductible status and anticipate offering this benefit in the near future. We recognize that this may influence your decision to contribute, and we fully respect your consideration. Please be assured that Politi Law PLLC is legally authorized to accept donations and remains committed to full transparency regarding the use of all funds received. Donations directly assist some of our most vulnerable clients—individuals escaping human trafficking and enslavement—by helping cover the filing of essential court documents required to initiate legal representation. We extend our sincere gratitude to every donor who is able to contribute. Below are answers to frequently asked questions about the Stand With Survivors Donation Program. We are committed to providing prompt and specific responses to any additional inquiries. For further details on how your contributions support our clients, please visit our Financial Disclosure page.
How exactly is my donation used?
Your donation directly funds legal research, court costs, and expert witness fees for civil cases against traffickers. It helps us build the strongest possible case for each survivor in Austin and beyond.
What percentage goes to legal services?
We keep overhead minimal. The bulk of every donation goes toward litigation expenses and supporting survivor advocacy, not administrative costs.
Can I give a one-time donation or must it be monthly?
Both are welcome. A one-time gift makes an immediate difference. Monthly giving provides steady support that lets us plan longer cases with confidence. Choose what fits you.
How do I know my money is being well spent?
We focus on measurable results: cases filed, legal motions won, and survivors who get a path toward justice. We are a small firm, so every dollar has a clear purpose.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Politi Law PLLC is a law firm, not a nonprofit. Donations support our advocacy work but may not be tax-deductible. Check with your tax advisor for your specific situation.
What if I want to support a specific case?
That is a powerful way to give. Contact us directly to discuss how your contribution can be directed to a particular survivor's legal fight. We will work with you.
Still have questions?
We are happy to talk through how your support makes a difference. Reach out anytime.
What does justice look like after trafficking?
Civil lawsuits won’t undo the harm, but they can hold traffickers accountable and give survivors a real path forward. By pursuing claims against traffickers and the institutions that enabled them—hotels that ignored the signs, banks that processed suspicious transactions, employers who turned a blind eye—we work to secure compensation for lost wages, medical care, therapy, and the chance to rebuild. Results vary, yet the pattern is clear: when enablers face real financial consequences, they’re forced to change how they operate.
